We are currently hiring Media Sales Representative for our Roanoker magazine team.

Job Description

We are seeking Outside Media Sales Professionals with excellent sales acumen, who can prospect, negotiate and close deals. The qualified candidate for our Publishers Representative/Account Executive will be working from the Roanoke office for our Award winning Roanoker magazine. As an integral part of the Leisure Publishing team, you’ll secure advertising commitments from regional business large and small. Clients are predominantly in the tourism and real estate; including CVB’s, hotels, retailers, residential developers and other tourism venues.

The Media Sales Representative duties include but are not limited to:

  • Learn and expand your understanding of Leisure Publishing and  Roanoker products and services
  • Source, develop and manage a pipeline of new client prospects
  • Manage and maintain current customers and ad agency accounts
  • Schedule face to face meetings with current and new customers
  • Manage time effectively amongst meetings, follow ups, and admin responsibilities
  • Follow up and secure appointments
  • Close new business
  • Drive the overall sales process
  • Be very customer-centric with a keen focus on details and the needs of the client
  • Have the overall ability to connect with prospective customers

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • The ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
  • Time management skills.
  • Extremely organized, highly motivated, strong work ethic and detail oriented.
  • Ability to develop business relationships with customers.
  • Documented history of  ethics, teamwork and success.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Requires 2 years minimum successful outside B2B media sales experience.
  • Media sales experience and degree strongly preferred.
