The website Blogville has selected Kurt's Hikes, a hiking blog on BlueRidgeCountry.com as an "editor's choice" blog. According to Blogville, less than 1% of Blogville blogs receive this recognition.
Blue Ridge Country Awarded Top Magazine in the Country
The National Federation of Press Women has awarded Blue Ridge Country magazine first place in publications. The recognition was among seven awards landed by Leisure Publishing staff in the NFPW's annual communications competition and reflects publications regularly edited by the entrant. Leisure Publishing awarded 3-year contract to publish Roanoke Valley Visitor's Guide
In July 2009 the Roanoke Valley Convention and Visitor's Bureau awarded a three year contract to Leisure Publishing to publish their 2010-2012 guides.
Leisure Design Team Wins an Addy for Magazine Cover Design

Virginia Tourism Corporation selects Leisure Publishing as publisher
In October 2008, Leisure Publishing is awarded a renewed four-year contract with the Virginia Tourism Corporation to cooperatively publish the official tourism guide for the Commonwealth of Virginia as well as other publications. Leisure has been the official Virginia Tourism Corporation publisher since 2005 and previously from 1999 to 2002.
Blue Ridge Country celebrates 20 years with award-filled 2008
Blue Ridge Country celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2008 with a record-breaking July/August issue. It continues to bring in awards at the local, state, national and international levels. The magazine has recently launched a partnership with Blue Ridge Public Television, gaining nearly 1,400 new subscribers in 13 states, with plans for collaborative on-air, online and print content. Guest columnists in recent issues have included novelist/National Public Radio personality Noah Adams, novelist/poet Fred Chappell, country and bluegrass music star Kathy Mattea and authors Adriana Trigiani and Sam Venable.
